Independent Specialist Speech and Language Therapist - Services
INITIAL CONSULTATION
An initial assessment lasts over 1 hour and includes a detailed history, full assessment of communication and a full written report.
In certain circumstances (eg: complex cases), this session will last longer or further assessment sessions may be recommended (eg: school/home visit). Additional sessions/school visits will be discussed with the client in advance.
SPECIALIST SERVICES
Accompanying clients to visit specialist services is charged per morning or afternoon session or per day.
STANDARD CONSULTATION
A standard therapy session lasts approximately 1 hour. This time is spent with the child and in discussion with parents or teachers.
This fee also includes time spent outside the consultation in preparation of material, planning and liaising with parents and professionals.
SPECIAL CONSULTATION VISITS
Advisory visit to schools, nurseries, Day Centres or Further Educational Establishments.
LETTERS, REPORTS and TREATMENT PROGRAMMES
Those which are additional to the initial report are charged in respect of the total time taken to prepare them and based on an hourly rate. Lengthy telephone conversations will be charged at the therapist's discretion. Clients will be advised in advance.
ATTENDANCE AT MEETINGS
Attending case conferences, multi-disciplinary meetings and other related discussions are charged per whole morning or afternoon session.
TALKS / WORKSHOPS / TRAINING SESSIONS
Talks / Workshops / Training Sessions are available in the specific area of AAC (from Profound Multiple Learning Disability and developing AAC, to complex communication devices and skills) per whole morning or afternoon session or per day.
